Dear Patrick Macnee, great to find your website. I started watching the DVD's of The Avengers 5 evenings before, so nice to have them on the little silver disks. I remember watching The Avengers secretly when I was a kid in my room on a black & white TV. My parents thought I was asleep but... You and Diana, that was the perfect match. I love your comments on the James Bond DVD's too. And it's always great to see you in movies. You'll be always a part of my life, always remember you, yes I will. All the very best from Germany: xXx : Cap K / Karsten ~ |

Mr. Macnee -
Thank you for a wonderful career, for providing me and my wife years of pleasure viewing your films and shows on the tellie. Especially, I appreciate your work on the documentary of one of my favored politicians - Winston Churchill during your Canadian/American sojourn early on.
I can only wish you continued health, success and happiness.
Answer:
The Churchill series was called "The Valiant Years" and Mr Macnee was the line producer, with responsibility, among other things, for securing interviews for the series. |

My daughter is now 17 years old... and since she was just a little girl we have watched Avengers episodes, from my DVD collection, together. It's been wonderful to see the delight in her eyes as she watches. Again, thank you.
God bless,

Thanks so much for a lifetime of excellent craftsmanship in acting. I loved the Avengers as a teenager and loved it again as I introduced it to my kids via VHS bought at Costco!
Love the show. Hated it when Mrs. Emma Peel drove away after another successful season. At least her long lost husband looked a lot like the amazing Patrick... |

Thank your for you exquisite portrayal of John Steed. I first watched The Avengers as it originally aired when I was five. Your Steed's manner, charm, dress, elegance, humor and grace are timeless, outstanding, protective, and comforting. 46 years later, I still love The Avengers! Love, Mindy |

Always wish there could be a sequel with Sir John, now aged 90 and an expert in tackling cyber-terrorism being persuaded out of retirement by a beautiful intelligent and sexy Muslim Anglophile lady doctor, and joined by a Bristol hoodie who knows pretty well everything from classics to desert reclamation, with an appalling taste in girlfriends.
Steed would own a Morgan (the last truly British car, made in my home town).
I miss hearing that voice on TV! |

I remember this series from my childhood, Patrick Macnee was the perfect English Hero. Today (23 Sep 2011) The Guardian have made The Avengers "Your Next Box Set" http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/2011/sep/22/your-next-box-set-avengers
As The Guardian says " If Tinker Tailor is the cold war in foggy, faded sepia, then even the Avengers' monochrome episodes seem to take place in a glorious, gaudy and just slightly tacky Technicolor." |

As a fan of reruns of "THE AVENGERS", well, I never figured you to also guest star on "HART TO HART". Anyway, I just recently wrote to Robert Wagner about a movie idea I have, and it would be nice if both Mrs. Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) and Miss Tara King (Linda Thorson) could also appear in it, if you can talk with them first, of course. |
