This is the summer of "The Avengers" again. By far beats anything currently on cable TV. You and Mrs. Peel, er Rigg, are still needed. Thank you for all these wonderful shows. It's really nice to watch one of these programs and not be able to guess how it's going to end, like it is with most of the stuff being put out today. |

Dear Mr McNee,
I just watched the film "Waxwork", from 1988 on TV, in which you appeared, and I wanted to thank you for the pleasure you gave me in that role, as you have done with so many others - but particularly as John Steed, of course. It is my pleasure to be able to say hello to you, and to thank you for your talent and the enjoyment you have given to so many people. I wish you good health and happiness always!
All best wishes, Karen |

Hello Mr Steed,
I'm writing you this short message to tell you that I went to the university in Chichester, for the 50th Anniversary of our favorite series from the 1960s. I had the immense privilege to see for real the sublime Linda Thorson, the gorgeous Honor Blackman and exceptional members of the crew : Mr Raymond Austin, Mr Brian Clemens (an honour). All weekend long, we had so many surprises, as this unseen interview you made a few years ago, known as 'The Journey Back'. What made my day actually was your personal message. One person was missing...you! I felt nostalgia but one element gave me strength, mentally speaking...your bowler! Indeed, the original bowler you had in the series was exhibited in the showroom, in front of the audience.I'll remember that day forever. Your message dedicated to us was moving, and you haven't lost your sense of humour and the end was funny...Who could have guessed the show would celebrate its 50th anniversary back in the sixties? It shows how precious this series is. You are going to laugh because during the weekend I asked several of my friends at the convention if you were celebrating the show too, at the same moment. I wish I met you When we heard that you had sent messages to the actors and crew at the university, it literally made my day. I do pray to meet Mr Steed one day, the secret agent on the top. Going to St Louis MO for a year starting in August, I'll do my best to visit you. And I promise I will !
AVENGERS forever! |

I loved your work in THE AVENGERS, but a more personal highlight for me was to see you live on Broadway in New York City in 1972 in SLEUTH. I waited at the backstage door after the show to see you. You were most patient with each waiting fan. I still have my copy of THE AVENGERS LP record that you signed for me that night and I appreciate your kindness and patience with this bashful fan from New Jersey.

You have a wonderful warmth, a true charm, that is evident in both your acting roles and in your interviews. You are always so gracious, giving credit to your co-stars and others, but so much is due to that special quality you bring to your parts. Thank you for the many, many hours of entertainment, and for your enormous contribution to the most stylish program in television history! |

Good day, Mr. Macnee!
I apologize that my English is not perfect. I would have always wanted to say that I love them very much! I have often seen you on TV, as well as interviews from you. I love your character and you. You are my dream man, I love you more than anything! My mother always says to me, why do not you care for a boy your age it's much too old for you it could be your grandpa. But I do not like boys, I just want you! And I think it depends on the character of the people not to age! You are unique, such a man as you are no longer in the world! They remain forever in my heart! I hope you have a very long life ahead of them! I wish you and your two children all the best!
With much love, your Diana! |

Dear Patrick
I really do not think there are many people in the world that have led as fascinating a life as you. Son of a racehorse trainer, Eton (though expelled), serving in WW2, acting, the avengers, emma peel, off to california for the beach life, your penchant for nudism (apparently), your accent, like Leslie Phillips but even better. The more I read about you, the more fascinating I find it all. I wish you all the very best. Remember one episode of the avengers when you were talking about the derby winner of 1928 (I think) Felstead winning at 33/1 and I thought oh well that's probably the script. Then read your life story and realised you probably knew that anyway. Saol fada |
