Patrick Macnee is an inspirational actor, the epitome of the English gentleman and classic English adventurer combined.
He has inspired several generations through is excellent work, and I’m certain that he will he will continue to do so.
I’m an Englishman born in Manchester and now living predominantly in the USA who has now led many others here to appreciate Patrick’s iconic TV series, the Avengers and the New Avengers, as well as Patrick’s roles in historic movies such as The Battle of the River Plate.
I have worked extensively in the stage, television and film industry myself for several decades now, and as such I have worked with many notable people along the way. I can only say that Patrick Macnee is one of the few people whom I would have absolutely wished to work with in my career and whom I would also simply dearly love to meet in person on day as part of my personal ‘bucket list’ of life because I would wish to thank him from bottom of my heart for providing inspirational entertainment and pleasure in abundance to myself and to millions of other people as well.
As the chairman of Record Breakers, a former TV show and now registered fund raiser for charities, I would hope to be able to invite Patrick to be our extra special guest at one of our Guinness World Record attempts.
Also, as a fellow Englishman I send Patrick my personal and most sincere love, best wishes and goodwill.

Thank You Mr.Macnee, You impressed me so much like also my beloved father. Because both of You are so full of heart, noble and fun, a new kind of men! So I am such a person today. Thanks to my father and You, Patrick. You are 88, so I have to say one thing: I didnt believe such things, but my late Father made a soundvisit at the handy of my younger sister and appeared in a night to a friend of mine, saying: tell my son, I feel great, dont worry. Now I think, there´s life after what we call death. It´s unbelievable! I´m glad and wish You all good things!!!

I will however, look for his other work in film and television and intend to read his autobiography - which has received praise all around. Thank you, Mr. Macnee!

I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. Macnee several years ago Thanksgiving. My parents also owned a condo in Rancho Mirage in the same association as he. We were all having Thanksgiving dinner in the Club House Restaurant. Mr. Macnee is as great a gentleman as he is an actor and I was very honored to have met him before my parents passed away. The condo they owned is now owned by my sister and I do hope I will get the opportunity to meet Mr. Macnee again.

Bless you.

What was a pretty dull childhood was greatly enriched by yours and Diana Rigg's stunning performances on the show. It was one of the few things I looked forward to on the weekends (instead of doing my homework). You see, in those days, we only had about 9 channels and they were mainly for the brainless. Your charm, wit and charisma made me look forward to growing up and meeting people like you.

The quality, fun, and elegant style of The Avengers is sadly lacking today. I was young when The Avengers was on TV; it was past my bedtime, but I'd get up for a drink of water and, well, linger to the end of the show. I'm sure my parents knew I was at the back of the room.

I wonder if it would be technically possible now to recreate the "old" Avengers with the genuine voices but visual tricks a little like Weta did for Gollum (and Avatar). If not a full series even just a guest appearance in, say, Dr Who. After all, how the Doctor be embroiled in paranormal oddities when he pops up in the sixties without Steed and Emma getting wind of it and investigating? It just isn't logical for them to be omitted. :-)

Thank you so much for it; would be nice for the world to have such John Steed in it nowadays! Wish you good health and pleasure in what you're doing.

It has always remained a very important part of my life and you were in it. I am happy that you have led a happy and full life and you will remain in my thoughts & prayers. Greetings sir. I grew up watching you light up the screen, from the avengers, the new avengers to gavilan, not to mention the movies. It was certainly a treat watching you dispose of the bad guys in your own cool, sophisticated manner. Thank you very much for being such a good influence. You proved that the good guys can be more cerebral and less muscular. You did it without having to swear, being pleasant even to the villains. May you continue to enjoy good health and happiness.

As a child growing up in the sixties I have many happy memories of watching "The Avengers" with my parents all those years ago. Now these days my wife and I still love to watch those programs as I have the complete DVD collection. On another note, I recall my parents telling me how much they enjoyed your excellent performance on Broadway in "Sleuth." How I wish I was able to see that performance.
Again thank you be well, be happy & be healthy!

Dear Patrick Macnee,

today, I visited our neighbours with my girls. The neighbours' grandma was also present, and I talked with her about the Avengers, and promised to give one of my Avenger-DVDs to her.
Later the husband arrived and when going home, I asked grandma:"Shall I fetch the DVD now?"
The host, without knowing what we were talking about, asked: "DVD? which DVD? I also like to get a DVD."
So I replied:"Its the DVD with the most handsome man of the world..." And grandma and I continued:"and with the most beautiful woman of the world" and my daughter (11years) guessed: "John Steed and Emma Peel?"

Three generations of women can hardly be wrong, can they?

Best regards from Germany
