Glad to see on internet. I following the repeat of the first series of The Avengers on french german Channel Arte : always nice to resee them. My mother was Miss Vera McAlroy ; her father was from north England, but died before her birth in 1912. Perhaps even he was a scotsman even if my cousin thinks he of irish ancestors. Dear Patrick Macnee,
WOW!! I loved the Avengers on T.V. and your great quip about Honor Blackman going to the U.S. as Goldfinger's pilot.
There is a new comic released based on the Avengers which I've just finished. I loved your stint in A View To A Kill, MI6 meets MI5.
Have a wonderful birthday!!!
Long live John Steed/Patrick Macnee

Dear Mr. Macnee,
I am sorry to be writing so soon after sending my birthday wishes, but after reading your bio, I saw you are a bird watcher. I am also, but I do have a question. "The Avengers" had several episodes with birds as a theme, and I wondered if that was because of your interest in birds, and, or the environment? "The Avengers" was definitely ahead of its time with concerns about the environment.
Thank you again for your service to your country, to your fans, and especially to this world we live in.
Again, God Bless!

Dear Mr Macnee
My birthday is the same day of you. On 6th February, I was born forty years after you (1962). Chance? For me you're a model of elegance, humour and humanism. You're my best teacher of good manners and good and free spirit.
When I was very young, I liked to watch "The Avengers ..." (with your beautiful partners, especially Diana Rigg) And now, the pleasure is the same and my wife and my young daughters like it too. Today I'm fifty years old and I think to you as "my old Friend".
Thanks to you and your army pals, who died for our freedom during the war, I'm most grateful
I wish you good health and I'll remember forever that Mr Macnee is a man, who gives us so many beautiful things.
Your's
sorry for my English! |

Dear Mr. Macnee,
90 years of Steed and charm, style and cleverness, heart and bowler hat!
All the very best from one of your dearest and longest fans from Germany. The Avengers brightened and inspired my youth, now I do my own tv-shows and films - and may I say I never would have come so far if you and Mrs. Peel had not saved my life so many times... at least from boredom and bleakness. Now, more than 30 years later, I had the honor of accompanying the German DVD-editions, making commentaries to every single episode with a very fond colleague who is also a big fan. You are still loved and appreciated here (and all over the world), thanks for everything you shared with us. England owes a lot to you... may I call you Sir? Please accept the knighthood of Love from all of your fans... and always keep your bowler hat on in times of trouble. Thanks for everything and please be aware and proud of all the joy you gave to all of us. Cheers and all the best, yours very sincerely Oliver Kalkofe |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU........ !!!
Dear Patrick, thank you so much for 90 years of living and for so many years of being the best actor of the best TV series ever made.
Naturally, I also have bought the 50th anniversary collection to have The Avengers always in best quality to watch it again and again. With your three ladies on your side (Honor, Diana and Linda) you have created a series never reached by others and lasting forever. I am very sure of that. An admiring fan from Germany (now living since many years in Madrid, Spain). |

Happy Birthday, Patrick!
I was only age 10 when I first saw "The Avengers" on ABC Television. However, I retained strong memories of the class, wit, and charm of you and Diana Rigg as partners in fighting crime. Now that I am older, I have a collection of all of those episodes and they are every bit as excellent as I remember them to be.
Thank you for your many years of entertaining audiences all over the world. BRAVO!! |

Dear Mr. Macnee,
the last time I wrote you to wish you very best congratulations was two years ago.
Sir, I still see in Patrick an excellent and imaginative character to our young people. Where else do they get their idea from, if we couldn't present a form of worth, whatever it belongs to? We are and should be the persons holding up a quality of life to our youngsters. Now by the way, I still hope and wish it in my heart, to send you a message like this the next ten years. Keep it going on. It's now or never. My best regards. |

Please send Mr Macnee our sincere best wishes on the occasion of his 90th Birthday. Congratulations.
The man is a fine actor and we have admired his work for more than 30 years.
John Steed will never die and on current evidence neither will Patrick. Long may he continue to celebrate the 6th Feb. Here’s to many more birthdays.
I rarely send birthday wishes to people I have never met, but this is different - Thank you for creating a tv legend that in some ways has actually played a part in shaping the character of a large number of people around the world over the past 50 years.
I was born about 6 months after the Avengers stopped production in 69 but that never stopped the show from influencing me and the person I became. Steed taught us all to be professional but at the same time to HAVE FUN and not take everything so seriously. An inspiration to generations.
All the very best.

Thank you. |
